Swirling guitars, furious drums, vocals that at the same time howl from infinite distance and are right up in your head; everything put into dissonant form with the help of unconventional songwriting. This album is my personal key to the icelanding black metal madness that I've ignored for way too long! Lukas Kaufmann
Absolutely great and fabulous album. Desperate, cold, hateful, grim, a bunch of awesome riffs, awesome atmopshere and artwork. Melancholic, insane, great lyrics, no real reproaches, this is greek Black Metal at it's finest! darkenedspirit (Midgard_OBM)
Svartidauði, the Icelandic legends, to me are one of the entire black metal scene's very pillars and ambassador of a chaotic, swirling and utterly intimidating style. Flesh Cathedral is a triumphant release, even more so considering it's their debut full-length. I even prefer it to Revelations of the Red Sword, which I heard first. These four tracks full of abrasive, highly recognisable vocals and nightmarish guitar riffs are uncomfortable and yet as spellbinding as aurora borealis. Magnificent. David Fischer
